Congratulations to fellow QCMGA member David Banse for scoring a Hole In One on Quail #8 on Wednesday March 13, 2024. Way to go Dave!!!
It was reported in the What’s Happening/Reading the Green email that Dave scored the HIO using an 8 iron at a distance of 125 yards, and his playing partners were Bill Jones and Bill Cashel.
Quoting Dave, “Thank you for your email acknowledging my recent hole-in-one. Most of what was posted in the What’s Happening/Reading the Greens is factually correct but left our that Paul Pantely also witnessed the shot.
I played from the Silver Tees, to a red pin location on the front right of the green. Though that green is difficult to hole, especially from a red pin position, I was fortunate to get a good bounce from just right of the green up onto the green and into the cup. This is my second HIO at Quail Creek, with the first taking place on RR #6 in 2020. IN total I have had 3 HIO’s in my golfing life, the first coming when I was 15 years old back in upstate New York.
As many of us do at Quail Creek, we were playing a skins game as part of our overall game on Wednesday. Our game rules is if someone scores a HOI, they are entitled to the entire skins pot (($125 on that day) and though others had individual may, and did earn skins, they received no money for their efforts as Aces get the pot. However, Aces also buy the entire field a round at the lounge after the round and it actually cost me $27”.
