New SCC Tees For Coyote/Roadrunner

Gentlemen

The Board addressed the Silver/Copper combo tees on the Coyote-Roadrunner course and decided the following:

  • The individual hole tee distribution was changed from 12 copper tees/6 silver tees to 9 copper tees and 9 silver tees.
  • The copper tees were set on the holes with the four lowest handicap stroke allocations and on Coyote #9.
  • The course yardage was changed from 5282 yds to 5428 yds which is approximately one half the difference between the silvers and the coppers.
  • The new tees were given a course rating and slope by the AGA so that we could use them in our events and post the scores.

These tees are temporary and do not appear on the GHIN system listing for Quail Creek. They will be used in our events through the end of the year. We will assess the matter with Josh and if our experience has been successful, we will lobby for the change to be permanent.

We are also prepared to adjust the Quail nine when it reopens tweaking the tee distribution to adjust the yardage so that the courses that use Quail as a second nine will have yardages that match our criteria of “one-half the difference between silver and copper tees”.

If you play these tees in other than a men’s event, you will have to manually enter the course rating and slope along with your score when you post. They are not listed on GHIN.

We know we can’t please everyone. We hope that you play these tees and provide us any feedback you may have after you’ve given them a fair try.

Attached is a .pdf document with the new tees and the ratings. The new tees are effective March 31, 2023. Enjoy!
