AWARENESS and CARE for the TURF WE ALL SHARE
As our community continues to grow, so does the mix of golf carts we see driving on the course. Regardless of size, all golf carts contribute to fairway wear, particularly as the grass enters its dormancy period. Granted, larger, heavier carts and those equipped with off-road or knobby tires can unintentionally cause greater turf damage, especially after rain or irrigation. Even so, our Superintendent and his maintenance team, Director of Golf, and POA Board continue working to balance long-term course preservation with the evolving cart preferences of our growing community.
Awareness and care for the turf we all share go a long way. With the number of carts driving on the fairways, a little extra care will make a big difference.
To help protect our course, here are a few simple awareness tips for all cart drivers:
- Avoid driving on wet turf whenever possible.
- Use turf-rated or smooth-tread tires.
- Use the 90-degree rule when entering the fairway to your ball.
- Vary entry and exit points to prevent rutting near fairways.
- Make slow turns and gradual stops to reduce turf shear.
- Keep clear of maintenance and roped-off areas.
- Politely remind others in your group to do the same.
If you do your part, we’ll keep our course looking great and playing its best well into the future.
